Propane Use In Construction

Propane is commonly used within construction projects across Ontario, the dangers can be often overlooked. If precautions are not taken, extensive damage to life and property can occur. This training program is designed to provide the information and practice necessary for construction workers to be able to safety connect, activate, and disconnect heaters, torchers, and propane powered equipment of less than 400,000 Btu/h, in accordance with Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) Construction Heater Operator 2 (CH-02) requirements.

Participants will learn:

  • Propane hazards

  • Legislation requirements and regulations

  • Safe Practices

  • Proper procedures of connection, activation and disconnection

Note: This course includes the Fire Extinguisher Basics component as applicable.

DURATION: Approximately 4hrs of in class participation.
