Traffic control is used to regulates the flow of traffic to protect construction workers and the motoring public, stop traffic when necessary, and allow construction to proceed safely and effectively.
This Training is for:
Any signal person who will be stopping traffic, signalling vehicles, and workers who may be endangered by vehicular traffic. This course is designed to teach participants about the hazards of working on a road with vehicles and the precautions they can take to prevent hazards.
The Ontario regulations for traffic control can be found in General Construction Sections 67-69 of the OHSA.
Participants will learn:
Controls used to mitigate hazards
Legislative requirements and regulations,
Traffic control planning basics
PPE and equipment requirements
Note: Workers will be able demonstrate effective hand signals and proper use of signs at the end of the course.
DURATION: approximately 3hrs of in class participation.
